poorly executed system shutdown. ensure that you stop and exit applications, and<br />

shut down the OS before powering off the server.<br />

To Power Off the System Remotely From the ok<br />

Prompt<br />

1. Notify users that the server will be powered off.<br />

2. Back up the system files and data, if necessary.<br />

3. Obtain the ok prompt.<br />

4. Issue the following command:<br />

ok power-off<br />

3. Log in to the ALOM system controller.<br />
