31. COMPUTERISATION & IT ENABLED<br />
SERVICES<br />
Your Company has embarked upon the<br />
following IT-enabled Projects/Services<br />
● Office Automation :<br />
To expand the base of office automation<br />
throughout your Company, a large number of PCs<br />
along with officesuits have been procured and<br />
installed at HQ, Areas and Project offices, which<br />
exceeds 1500 in number.<br />
● <strong>CCL</strong> Website :<br />
A Hindi version of <strong>CCL</strong> website has been<br />
launched along with the existing website:<br />
www.ccl.gov.in. The website has been enriched<br />
further to disseminate vital and up-to-date<br />
information and statistics of your Company to the<br />
public and employee.<br />

Online Material Management System<br />
(OMMS) :<br />
All eleven stores falling under the jurisdiction<br />
of your Company are fully computerized with<br />
implementation of OMMS<br />
● IT Infrastructural Development :<br />
A massive IT infrastructural development is<br />
in the pipeline to support installation and<br />
implementation of ERP package being planned<br />
at CIL level. It will enhance the automation of<br />
dataflow, intergrity and Security of information and<br />
smoothening of some of the important business<br />
processes which include Mine Production System,<br />
Mining Execution System, Document<br />
Management, Financial Accounting System, etc.<br />
of your Company to a great extent.<br />
32. SECURITY MANAGEMENT<br />
The Security Department of <strong>CCL</strong> has<br />
mitigated the risk involved in production and<br />
dispatch of coal despite naxal activities in various<br />
command areas thus playing its given role in<br />
achieving of overall target of the Company. There<br />
were kidnapping events including two security<br />
staff of <strong>CCL</strong> in the month of Dec. <strong>2010</strong>, by<br />
undesirable elements but effective liaison with<br />
State/ District administration, call given beyond<br />
the duty by executives and supervisors in field<br />
areas ensured protection of Company’s assets,<br />
men and material.<br />

The Company has expedited infrastructure<br />
development work for CISF by providing family<br />
and bachelor accomodation, construction of<br />
security related barracks and magazines at B&K,<br />
Dhori, NK Dakra and Piparwar Areas. 402 family<br />
quarters will be constructed in B&K and Dhori Area<br />
for CISF in financial year 20<strong>11</strong>-12. Medical<br />
facilities for dependents of CISF personnel were<br />
also approved by Board. Induction of new<br />
weapons and equipments to CISF deployed in<br />
Dhori, B&K Area, NK Area and Piparwar have<br />
given them more teeth to protect your Company’s<br />
assets. An amount of approx. 1.5 Crores has<br />
been approved for the purchase of modern<br />
defence equipments and communication gadgets<br />
for CISF thus giving them an advantage while<br />
operating in naxal infested areas.<br />
Your Company has approved deployment<br />
of 1400 nos. of Security Guards for strengthening<br />
existing Security Manpower. The deployment of<br />
DGR security agencies ex- servicemen sponsored<br />
by Ministry of Defence, in various <strong>CCL</strong> Command<br />
areas has made up deficiencies of security<br />
guards. There has been a remarkable reduction<br />
in theft related incidents wherever DGR<br />
sponsored security agencies are deployed.<br />
The new induction in security and passing<br />
out of 15 batches from Security Training Institute<br />
at Ranchi have increased the number of young<br />
departmental security guards to 550 . Their work<br />
has been appreciated by one and all in field areas.<br />
Modern Gadgetary in the form of I P<br />
Cameras, CCTV, under vehicle surveillance<br />
systems, and improved perimeter defence system<br />
is being planned for all important installations in<br />
the field areas which will further contain/control<br />
pilferage of coal and other assets.<br />
All areas and <strong>CCL</strong> HQ are monitoring illegal<br />
mining in their areas of responsibility and sharing<br />
the inputs at highest level committee created by<br />
State administration, Regular dozing of illegal pits<br />
and monitoring of FIRs/ Cases have led to<br />
reduction in illegal mining incidents.<br />
Instruction of gate management system by<br />
security at <strong>CCL</strong> HQs. Darbhanga House<br />
premises, has led to increase in discipline and<br />
punctuality among the employees, thus enhancing<br />
overall efficiency.
