(5) Structured Meeting of CVO with<br />

CEO - In compliance with the<br />

instruction of CVC, Structured<br />

Meeting of CVO with CEO is being<br />

organized regularly and during the<br />

year <strong>2010</strong> four structured Meetings<br />

were held wherein various important<br />

issues like E-Tendering, E-<br />

Procurement, E-Payment, Linking of<br />

all the Regional Stores with Central<br />

Stores and <strong>CCL</strong>, HQ., Preparation<br />

and adoption of E&M Manual,<br />

Uploading of information on Co.<br />

web-site and Establishing Quality<br />

Control Cell of Civil Engineering<br />

Department were deliberated and<br />

various instructions were issued to the<br />

concerned Departments for<br />

implementation of certain decisions of<br />

above meetings.<br />

(6) In order to propagate concept of<br />

preventive vigilance down the line<br />

and enhance the knowledge of<br />

employees Vigilance Department of<br />

your Company had organized a series<br />

of workshop and seminars in addition<br />

to Vigilance Awareness Week <strong>2010</strong>.<br />

The highlights of certain workshops<br />

and seminars are noted below:<br />

a. One day seminar was<br />

organised on 10.05.<strong>2010</strong> on<br />

Common irregularities found in<br />

Tendering / Procurement<br />

process. Delivering the keynote<br />

address, the CVO, NCL Sri B.<br />

Pradhan, IOFS, emphasized<br />

that tendering is a vital function<br />

of all coal companies for<br />

transportation of coal, civil work,<br />

procurement of materials etc.<br />

The above seminars was<br />

attended by around 300<br />

employees.The CMD, DT(O)<br />

and CVO, were also present.<br />

There was a healthy interactive<br />

session, wherein many officials<br />

dealing with tenders, had raised<br />

their doubts which were cleared<br />

by the CVOs of NCL & <strong>CCL</strong>.<br />

b. As a step towards training the<br />

Vigilance Officers in qualitative<br />

investigative skills a workshop<br />

was organized on “Techniques<br />

of Investigation” on 12.10.<strong>2010</strong>.<br />

conducted the workshop which<br />

was attended by CVO and all<br />

officers of Vigilance<br />

Department.
