CHAPTER 5<br />

• Skipper Last Name Record the last name of the<br />

skipper.<br />

• State Registration Number – Use this field<br />

only if the fixed gear vessel does not have a USCG<br />

number. The state registration number will begin<br />

with a CF in California, OR in Oregon, and WN<br />

in Washington.<br />

• Departure Date/Time – Document the date<br />

and time the vessel left port.<br />

• Departure Port – Document the port the vessel<br />

departs from.<br />

• Landing Date/Time – Document the date and<br />

time the vessel returns to port.<br />

• Landing Port – Document the port the vessel<br />

returns to.<br />

• Fish Tickets and State Agency Code – Obtain<br />

the numbers of all landing receipts (fish tickets)<br />

from the vessel skipper, the port biologist, or the<br />

state liaison. This is a required field for all<br />

fisheries and trips! The state agency code will be<br />

C - for California deliveries, O – for Oregon<br />

deliveries or W – for Washington deliveries.<br />

• Trip Notes – Document any information<br />

pertinent to understanding the trip.<br />

• Haul/Set Number – Number hauls<br />

consecutively, starting with haul 1 for each trip.<br />

Number the hauls in the order they were<br />

retrieved, not set!<br />
