Troll Gear<br />

Trolling involves towing multiple fishing lines behind a<br />

vessel (See Figure 5-7). Fish lines are attached to a pair of<br />

outriggers that are lowered to approximately 45-degree<br />

angles from the boat when fishing.<br />

Fishing lines are set and retrieved using gurdies mounted<br />

on the vessel in sets of two, three or four. Each gurdy<br />

spool, usually powered by hydraulics, contains and works<br />

one main line.<br />
