him. Now they saw a changed man. Not only his<br />
words and his manner of life were different, but<br />
his very appearance had changed. He said it was<br />
the Lord working in him, and they could not gainsay<br />
it.<br />
He gave up his occupation as cook in order to give<br />
his whole time to the study of the Bible and has<br />
now become a colporteur and itinerant evangelist.<br />
His salary as such is considerably less than what he<br />
received as cook, but he is happy in the service of<br />
the Lord. Soon after his conversion, his wife accepted<br />
the Lord, then his brother, and by the end of<br />
1935, less than five years after the gospel began to<br />
be preached there, there was a group of twelve Laosian<br />
Christians at Vientiane, seven of whom had<br />
been baptized. It is only a small church but one<br />
which gives great hope for the future. For "He who<br />
hath begun a good work (there) will perform it<br />
until the day of Jesus Christ."
