Temple, as the French call our preaching halls, and<br />
there was no money in the treasury for the purpose.<br />
But when the missionary returned to his station at<br />
Tourane, he found that the Lord who knows the end<br />
from the beginning had been working on this problem<br />
for some time. A letter was brought to the Mis¬<br />
sion home containing a check for enough to rent the<br />
chapel, and, as it turned out, to finance it for six<br />
months. The money was designated to be used for<br />
just such a project as this. Two or three months be¬<br />
fore, in a city in the Dominion of Canada, the Lord<br />
had spoken to one of His children in a most unusual<br />
way. She had an engagement ring that had been<br />
lying in her jewel case for some time, and the Lord<br />
asked her if she was willing to give it to Him. She<br />
talked the matter over with her husband, and they<br />
agreed to sell the ring and give the proceeds for mis¬<br />
sionary work. It was sold; and although this lady<br />
was not at that time personally known to the mis¬<br />
sionaries at Tourane, the amount was delivered to<br />
his house by the postman just when the Lord had<br />
opened the way to this new outstation where it was<br />
needed.<br />
The missionaries went to Faifoo to find the chapel.<br />
They were prepared to pay a fairly good rental, but<br />
though they and their friends searched everywhere<br />
