to be Luong the actor, and even you, Mr. Governor,<br />
knew of him. He was a wild, dissolute, sinful fel¬<br />
low. But now I am Lieu the preacher, no longer<br />
wild or dissolute or sinful. You know the life that<br />
I now live, that it is righteous and helpful to others.<br />
It is Jesus who has wrought this change in me. The<br />
new life is so much better than the old that I cannot<br />
but tell others how they can be changed too. You,<br />
Mr. Governor, need this Saviour; He will fill your<br />
life with a peace and joy that cannot be found anywhere<br />
else." He proceeded to witness along this<br />
line until finally the case was dismissed. Later the<br />
official sent word to the missionary that the evangelist<br />
at Faifoo was a fine man, and that he had almost<br />
persuaded him, the Governor, to be a Christian.<br />
Up to the close of 1935, more than 300 men and<br />
women had been enrolled in the Tourane Bible<br />
School. Two hundred and thirty of these are now<br />
engaged in Christian work. This means that less<br />
than 25 per cent have fallen by the way. Seventyeight<br />
men have graduated from the Men's School,<br />
and only seven of them have gone back into secular<br />
work.<br />
These graduates are men who know their God and<br />
know His Word. They have learned to "endure<br />
hardness as good soldiers," and to "be all things to<br />
all men." They are working in all five states of<br />
French Indo-China, among the educated in the large<br />
cities, and among the simple-minded peasants in the
