The Soul <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> <strong>Kabbalah</strong><br />
THE SPHERE OF SENSATION96<br />
The E<strong>the</strong>ric Body or Lower Nephesch<br />
Within <strong>the</strong> Outer Order <strong>the</strong> subject <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Kabbalistic Soul and its<br />
component parts was first discussed. The next phase <strong>of</strong> study for <strong>the</strong><br />
Grade <strong>of</strong> Adeptus Major is that <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Subtle Anatomy <strong>of</strong> Man and its<br />
links to <strong>the</strong> Kabbalistic Soul. The Sphere <strong>of</strong> Sensation, or under its common<br />
name, <strong>the</strong> aura, is very intricate in its nature and functions. The<br />
number <strong>of</strong> auras around <strong>the</strong> body <strong>of</strong> man has been and is always a debatable<br />
point, but <strong>the</strong> Order teachings show that <strong>the</strong>re are in fact seven in<br />
number. Of that seven <strong>the</strong>re are four that are tangible (including <strong>the</strong><br />
physical body) and three that are intangible to psychics, which correspond<br />
to some aspects <strong>of</strong> Eastern teachings as well. In <strong>the</strong> ritual <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
5=6 grade we are told:<br />
And being turned, I saw Seven <strong>Golden</strong> Lightbearers, and<br />
in <strong>the</strong> midst <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lightbearers, One like Ben Adam,<br />
clo<strong>the</strong>d with a garment down to <strong>the</strong> feet, and girt, with a<br />
<strong>Golden</strong> Girdle.<br />
There are <strong>the</strong> manifestations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> aura, each one distinct from<br />
<strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r that manifests from <strong>the</strong> body, shown as <strong>the</strong> empty pastas within<br />
<strong>the</strong> Vault.<br />
The first Auric Body that encloses itself around Guph, <strong>the</strong> physical<br />
body, under <strong>the</strong> power <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Nephesch, is <strong>the</strong> E<strong>the</strong>ric Body. Its function<br />
on a basic level is to keep <strong>the</strong> vital flows <strong>of</strong> energy that it receives from its<br />
next highest level (<strong>the</strong> Astral Body) and transmit <strong>the</strong>m directly into <strong>the</strong><br />
various energy points throughout rhe body, <strong>of</strong> which <strong>the</strong>re are many. On<br />
one level it stimulates <strong>the</strong> seven major centers and <strong>the</strong> 21 senior centers,<br />
as well as <strong>the</strong> 49 subcenters. From this it stimulates <strong>the</strong> energy flows<br />
through <strong>the</strong> various meridians <strong>of</strong> body, which in turn are categorized as<br />
both major and minor influences. From this combined influence, every<br />
organ and structure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> body has its own vibrational pitch that <strong>the</strong><br />
E<strong>the</strong>ric Body stimulates in harmony with each o<strong>the</strong>r.<br />
