82 The <strong>Kabbalah</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> <strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Dawn</strong><br />
King mounts his throne, and when God appears, <strong>the</strong><br />
Gods are banished."72<br />
What we have here, by analogy, is <strong>the</strong> fact that <strong>the</strong> previous chaos<br />
is not nothingness nor negativeness, but simply a state <strong>of</strong> imbalance that<br />
is corrected by <strong>the</strong> shining light <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> sun sweeping away <strong>the</strong> darkness,<br />
and <strong>the</strong> formation <strong>of</strong> a new archetypal face. For we are told:<br />
The Divine Image is a double one. There are heads <strong>of</strong><br />
light and shadow, <strong>the</strong> white ideal and <strong>the</strong> black ideal, <strong>the</strong><br />
upper head and <strong>the</strong> lower. One is <strong>the</strong> dream <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Man<br />
God and <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r is <strong>the</strong> invention <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> God-man.<br />
One represents God <strong>the</strong> wise, and <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r, <strong>the</strong> idol <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> lowly.73<br />
The restoration <strong>of</strong> Adam by YHYH shows that in <strong>the</strong> single head,<br />
called <strong>the</strong> Attik Yomin or <strong>the</strong> Ancient <strong>of</strong> Days,74 are three fur<strong>the</strong>r heads<br />
and <strong>the</strong>se are but a reflection <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Supernal Triad. Each head comprises<br />
a Tree <strong>of</strong> Life <strong>of</strong> Ten Sephiroth which has been reflected through and<br />
down by <strong>the</strong> emanations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> First Adam. The first head is Concealed<br />
Wisdom, <strong>the</strong> second is Hidden Wisdom, while <strong>the</strong> third head is Remaining<br />
Wisdom. The diagram <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> head is broken down into seven parts:<br />
(1) The cranium or skull has no beginning but <strong>the</strong> emanations<br />
reflected on its surface are said to have received <strong>the</strong> input from 400<br />
worlds. This figure is arrived at through <strong>the</strong> fact that each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ten<br />
Sephiroth contains ten Sephiroth( for example Malkuth <strong>of</strong> Ke<strong>the</strong>r, Yesod<br />
<strong>of</strong> Ke<strong>the</strong>r, etc.) and this situation is reflected in each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Four Worlds<br />
<strong>of</strong> Arzilurh, Briah, Yetzirah, and Assiah-thus 10 x 10 x 4 = 400. It is also<br />
<strong>the</strong> numerical value <strong>of</strong> Tau, <strong>the</strong> last letter in <strong>the</strong> Hebrew Alphabet for,<br />
while it has no beginning, it has an end or limit to its size. The Zohar tells<br />
us that <strong>the</strong> skull is <strong>the</strong> residual place <strong>of</strong> knowledge and is <strong>the</strong> residence<br />
not only <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Son but <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 32 <strong>Pat</strong>hs and 50 gates. 75<br />

74 He is called <strong>the</strong> Ancient <strong>of</strong> Days because Daniel said that he had seen <strong>the</strong> Thrones <strong>of</strong> Life giving<br />
Fire overturned and <strong>the</strong> Ancient <strong>of</strong> Days sit down so that he can renew <strong>the</strong> world around Him.<br />
(Daniel 7:9)<br />
75 The section on <strong>the</strong> 50 Gates will be discussed later in <strong>the</strong> alchemical section <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> book.
