84 The <strong>Kabbalah</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> <strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Dawn</strong><br />

(2) The dew from <strong>the</strong> head comes through <strong>the</strong> Chokmah <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Hidden or Concealed Adam:<br />

... The Most Holy and Ancient one is Hidden and concealed,<br />

and in that skull is <strong>the</strong> Supernal Wisdom concealed<br />

76 ... Genesis 27:27; "And Elohim shall give <strong>the</strong>e<br />

from <strong>the</strong> Dew <strong>of</strong> Heaven.<br />

(3) The forehead (sometimes referred to as <strong>the</strong> brain) has 370<br />

worlds. This applies to Grace and to <strong>the</strong> benefits <strong>of</strong> remaining true to <strong>the</strong><br />

religious feasts and philosophy in general and not deviating from <strong>the</strong>se.<br />

Such is said to be <strong>the</strong> Will <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Law. It is also called <strong>the</strong> Fountain <strong>of</strong><br />

Benevolence where blessings are found. From it <strong>the</strong> Light goes forth in 32<br />

directions.<br />

(4) The eyes have no eyelashes or eyebrows77 for <strong>the</strong> figure never<br />

sleeps and represents <strong>the</strong> vigilance <strong>of</strong> Israel. The Eyes, Skull, and forehead<br />

represent <strong>the</strong> Yod force, as a combined unit. The eyes have three<br />

emanations from <strong>the</strong>m and this is from <strong>the</strong> Supernal triad reflected <strong>the</strong>rein.<br />

Their colors change from black to white, depending on <strong>the</strong> influence<br />

at <strong>the</strong> time.<br />

(5) The nose is <strong>the</strong> gateway for <strong>the</strong> spirit <strong>of</strong> life, <strong>the</strong> breath, to enter<br />

and exit. It represents <strong>the</strong> Heh force. Within <strong>the</strong> Zoharic text great<br />

importance is placed on <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> breaths, for example four quick<br />

breaths are said to come from YHVH.<br />

(6) The beard is divided into 13 parts and describes <strong>the</strong> Word <strong>of</strong><br />

God, for <strong>the</strong> 13 parts <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> white beard shows perfection <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Word.<br />

There are 31 curls <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> beard and 390 hairs, for Psalms says: "The perfume<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> supreme head is poured out <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> beard <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> fa<strong>the</strong>r, and<br />

from <strong>the</strong>re, on to <strong>the</strong> beard <strong>of</strong> Aaron." The black beard, <strong>of</strong> course, is <strong>the</strong><br />

negative aspect <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> white, yet both are a homogeneous part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> same<br />

whole. The beard itself hides <strong>the</strong> Supernal Triad <strong>of</strong> Ke<strong>the</strong>r, Chokmah,<br />

and Binah, or three heads which are held toge<strong>the</strong>r by <strong>the</strong> letters YHVH.<br />

It extends to <strong>the</strong> pit <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> chest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Arik Anpin or Macroprosopus<br />

Vast Countenance.<br />

76"IdraZurra," Ma<strong>the</strong>rs translation.<br />

77 This is disputed in French translations <strong>of</strong> this section <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Zohar.
