162 The <strong>Kabbalah</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> <strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Dawn</strong><br />
if <strong>the</strong> text is read from start to finish <strong>the</strong>n it is indeed hopeless, but if<br />
<strong>the</strong> text is read in parts <strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong>re are some experiments that can work<br />
on a practical level, but even <strong>the</strong>se are only parts <strong>of</strong> experiments and<br />
not completed.<br />
The dual associations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> metals with <strong>the</strong> Sephiroth are confusing<br />
and relate to various stages <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> experiment. I must confess that I<br />
think that to introduce <strong>the</strong> student to <strong>the</strong>se diagrams during ritual was a<br />
bad error <strong>of</strong> judgment by Ma<strong>the</strong>rs, and he would have done better to simply<br />
provide <strong>the</strong> standard associations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Knowledge Lectures where<br />
associations are given to <strong>the</strong> Sephiroth. 174<br />
A rectification <strong>of</strong> this would be as follows:<br />
Ke<strong>the</strong>r<br />
Chokmah<br />
Binah<br />
Daath<br />
Chesed<br />
Geburah<br />
Tiphareth<br />
Netzach<br />
Hod<br />
Yesod<br />
Malkuth<br />
Mercury<br />
Sulphur<br />
Salt<br />
Lead<br />
Tin<br />
Iron<br />
Gold<br />
Copper<br />
Quicksilver<br />
Silver<br />
Metallic Root<br />
There is no doubt that to take parts <strong>of</strong> a lexicon and try to make a<br />
book out <strong>of</strong> it can create difficulties, and this is apparent with <strong>the</strong> Aesch<br />
Mezareph. Yet it should be treated as a type <strong>of</strong> lexicon only, and nothing<br />
more, although each <strong>of</strong> its relevant parts does have some very important<br />
gleanings to give providing <strong>the</strong>y are seen as parts and not <strong>the</strong> whole.<br />
174 1have placed Saturn to Daath for <strong>the</strong> sake <strong>of</strong> form but also because it is used <strong>the</strong>re in <strong>the</strong> associations<br />
to <strong>the</strong> Hexagram Ritual <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Dawn</strong>.
