There is no doubt that when <strong>the</strong> battle escalates, is fur<strong>the</strong>r enflamed, and is set ablaze and<br />
when its violence from us and from <strong>the</strong> enemy against <strong>the</strong> people and society intensifies,<br />
<strong>the</strong>se hearts and minds <strong>will</strong> be moved and (this violence) <strong>will</strong> furnish <strong>the</strong> greatest pro<strong>of</strong> to<br />
<strong>the</strong> people. Thus polarization <strong>will</strong> increase. However, in return for <strong>the</strong> violence from<br />

<strong>the</strong> blazing <strong>of</strong> a fierce battle, we find that every <strong>stage</strong> <strong>of</strong> our battle needs methods that are<br />
s<strong>of</strong>t and <strong>the</strong> like in order to counterbalance that (violence) so that <strong>the</strong> situation <strong>will</strong> be in<br />
good order, especially since <strong>the</strong> classes <strong>of</strong> people <strong>which</strong> we should focus on polarizing<br />
(without neglecting <strong>the</strong> remaining classes <strong>of</strong> people) <strong>will</strong> be different in every <strong>stage</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
battle.<br />
In <strong>the</strong> <strong>stage</strong> <strong>of</strong> "<strong>the</strong> power <strong>of</strong> vexation and exhaustion", we need to polarize <strong>the</strong> elect among<br />
<strong>the</strong> youth <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Umma, and <strong>the</strong> best way to do that is <strong>through</strong> justifying <strong>the</strong> operations<br />
rationally and <strong>through</strong> <strong>the</strong> sharia. The highest degree <strong>of</strong> justification is to justify <strong>the</strong> act itself<br />
by itself. However, in <strong>the</strong> face <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> hostile media it is difficult to create an operation <strong>which</strong><br />
justifies itself, even if we could do that when we reached <strong>the</strong> <strong>stage</strong> <strong>of</strong> (being able to) paralyze<br />
this media. That happens when <strong>the</strong> groups advance and grow and <strong>the</strong> operations coalesce<br />
and <strong>the</strong>y are able to prevent <strong>the</strong> media from monitoring <strong>the</strong>m and distorting <strong>the</strong>m or<br />
distorting <strong>the</strong>ir goals. As for <strong>the</strong> <strong>stage</strong> in <strong>which</strong> <strong>the</strong> hostile media is active, <strong>the</strong>re is no way to<br />
justify <strong>the</strong> operations save by issuing published statements. Statements <strong>through</strong> audio or<br />
visual media prepare everyone for <strong>the</strong> operations before <strong>the</strong>y are undertaken—without<br />
specification, naturally—and <strong>the</strong>y are justified afterwards <strong>through</strong> a powerful, rational,<br />
