In inspections of the provision of maritime and
support navigation transport services, the actions
of ANTAQ are driven by the Extraordinary
Inspections at maritime and support navigation
companies relating to complaints or evidence of
illegal trade practices or violation of legal and
regulatory provisions, and the Annual Inspection
Plan - PAF, designed to verify the requirements for
the maintenance of grants of shipping companies
authorized by ANTAQ, implemented as of the
year 2007.
Annual Inspection Plan – PAF and
Extraordinary Inspections
The Annual Inspection Plan – PAF, within maritime
and support navigation, takes into account
authorized companies and their respective headquarters
aiming at the formulation, implementation
and monitoring by the ANTAQ, considering
the skills of boards monitoring and regional administrative
units. The following graph illustrates
the evolution of the PAF, taking into account the
population of authorized maritime and support
navigation companies and the implementation of
inspections scheduled.

It is noteworthy that the Agency has expanded
the size of the samples each year, due to the increase
of its staff and the decentralization of supervisory
actions, based on the creation of new
regional administrative units. It is possible to notice
a significant increase in the execution of programmed
inspections between 2007 and 2008.
