g. delivering a range of interpretive initiatives related<br />
to Working Wetlands Part A. This includes the<br />
development of factsheets, interpretive signage,<br />
podcast and web content.<br />
c. A scoping and project identification meeting was<br />
scheduled to initiate a review of visitor data<br />
collection; however, due to staff illness and lack<br />
of availability (consequent to the Chelsea Flower<br />
Show project), this did not proceed. When this<br />
project is re-established in <strong>2011</strong>–12 it will support<br />
development of some online tourism activities.<br />
d. A working group consisting of staff from Public<br />
Programs branches at both sites and Marketing<br />
and Communications branch staff developed a<br />
brief to establish a mobile application (App) for<br />
use in the Australian Garden Stage 2. This App<br />
will enhance the visitor experience by providing<br />
detailed maps of the Australian Garden, details<br />
about the plant collections, and general support<br />
for community sharing of information about the<br />
Australian Garden. These features aim to provide<br />
rich learning experiences.<br />
e. RBG Cranbourne Public Programs branch staff<br />
drafted and developed a range of web content<br />
for the Australian Garden Stage 2. This content<br />
describes the various precincts within Stage 2<br />
and is now available for the public to view on<br />
the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Botanic</strong> <strong>Gardens</strong>’ website. Staff at<br />
RBG Cranbourne also contributed content<br />
to the Australian Garden blog and other social<br />
media platforms.<br />
f. A total of six Rare and Threatened Species<br />
factsheets were developed and are available on<br />
the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Botanic</strong> <strong>Gardens</strong>’ website as additional<br />
support for participating schools and other<br />
community me<strong>mb</strong>ers in the Rare and Threatened<br />
plant regions. A project commenced to update<br />
existing factsheets and make them available on<br />
the website.<br />
g. A range of communication and interpretation<br />
activities has been completed as part of Working<br />
Wetlands Part A, including a dedicated Working<br />
Wetlands blog that links to the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Botanic</strong><br />
<strong>Gardens</strong>’ website, a range of factsheets, and<br />
on-site information signs which incorporate a<br />
detailed project map. This was accompanied by<br />
an internet kiosk where visitors could access the<br />
Working Wetlands blog and <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Botanic</strong><br />
<strong>Gardens</strong>’ website. However, due to technical<br />
problems, the internet kiosk was removed in<br />
Dece<strong>mb</strong>er <strong>2010</strong>.<br />
