for the course. Absences due to required participation in official University sponsored activities
will be excused.
FAMILY EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT
(FERPA) REGULATIONS
FERPA protects academic and other educational records of students from unauthorized access.
It allows Victory University the right to refuse to issue a transcript in the event of an
outstanding financial obligation to the University or to a national loan program.
FERPA permits access to academic records with the University under “the legitimate need to
know” clause. This allows faculty advisors, administrators, faculty and select staff access as
long as the use of such information is within the purpose of the University and for the benefit of
the student.
FERPA allows access to academic records beyond the direct use of the University, or third party
access, under the following circumstances:
1. With the student’s signed release,
2. To the parent of the student who is legally of minor age,
3. To the parent of the student who is legally an adult but who continues to be the
financial dependent of the parent, and
4. Academic research if all personal identifiable information is removed from the data.
It is the policy of Victory University that any official transcript or letter verifying grades, GPA, or
enrollment must be issued from the Office of the Registrar and signed by the Registrar. Victory
University cannot release high school transcripts or transcripts from other colleges/universities
that are on file. These transcripts are third party, non-transferable records and are the
property of Victory University.
Students can review their file one week after requesting to review their file in writing.
In accordance with FERPA, Victory University students have the right to review, inspect, and
challenge the accuracy of information kept by the University. It also ensures that records
cannot be released without written consent of the student, except in the following situations:
1. To school officials and faculty who have a legitimate educational interest, such as a
faculty advisor.
2. Where the information is classified as “Directory Information.” The following categories
of information have been designated by Victory University as directory information:
Name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, date of birth, place of birth,
academic major, academic minor, dates of attendance, participation in officially
recognized activities and sports, weight and height of athletic team members, degrees
