We also offer an online retirement<br />

planning tool that projects an employee’s<br />

<strong>JPMorgan</strong> <strong>Chase</strong> 401(k) Savings Plan and<br />

Retirement Plan benefits, and estimates<br />

retirement income. We supplement this<br />

tool with additional information about<br />

resources that are available to them while<br />

planning for retirement.<br />

In addition, <strong>2011</strong> marked the second year<br />

in a row that we provided a $500 award<br />

to employees around the world making<br />

$60,000 or less per year. The award is a<br />

gesture of appreciation for the commitment<br />

and contributions of our employees. In the<br />

United States, this award was made to the<br />

401(k) Savings Plan. Employees outside the<br />

U.S. received the award through local payroll.<br />

HELPING WORKING<br />

FAMILIES<br />

<strong>JPMorgan</strong> <strong>Chase</strong> offers multiple programs<br />

and resources to help employees manage<br />

their work and family needs.<br />

Back-up Childcare<br />

One critical program is back-up childcare<br />

assistance. Within the U.S., we have 13<br />

dedicated on-site centers, five nearsite<br />

membership centers and a Network<br />

Access Program that provides our<br />

employees access to more than 250<br />

childcare centers nationwide.<br />

<strong>JPMorgan</strong> <strong>Chase</strong> provides employees in<br />

the U.S. with 20 days of back-up childcare<br />

each year to use when their families’ existing<br />

childcare arrangements break down (e.g.,<br />

a regular caregiver is unavailable or school<br />

is closed) and the employee must be at<br />

work. In <strong>2011</strong>, more than 10,000 children<br />

participated in our back-up childcare<br />

programs (a 9% increase from 2010) using<br />

over 118,000 childcare days in total.<br />

In addition to the 20 days we offer<br />

employees, we continued to provide<br />

additional childcare through our Summer<br />

Advantage Program, which provides three<br />

extra weeks of childcare, and through our<br />

8-Week Advantage Program, which provides<br />

eight extra weeks of childcare to help new<br />

parents transition back to work after they<br />

have or adopt a child. Nearly 4,000 children<br />

participated in these additional programs.<br />

We also extended the program’s hours of<br />

operation to provide childcare for employees<br />

working overtime or weekends when needed.<br />

Through our Patriotic Program, we make<br />

an additional 20 days of back-up childcare<br />

available when an employee or his or her<br />

spouse is deployed on active military duty.<br />

Back-up childcare programs are also<br />

available in some countries outside the<br />

U.S. In the U.K., for example, employees<br />

can access a network of childcare centers.<br />

In <strong>2011</strong>, nearly 950 children participated in<br />

our back-up childcare programs using over<br />

2,700 childcare days.<br />

Parenting Support<br />

<strong>JPMorgan</strong> <strong>Chase</strong> has launched several<br />

free programs to help parents in raising<br />

their families. These include a parenting<br />

series covering topics such as kindergarten<br />

readiness. In addition, our College Coach<br />

Program has guided many employees and<br />

their families through important educational<br />

challenges, including selecting and<br />

applying to college. The program consists<br />

of workshops and personalized assistance<br />

provided by experienced counselors,<br />

including former senior admissions officers<br />

from some of the nation’s leading colleges.<br />

Helping Employees Struggling<br />

with Difficult Issues<br />

<strong>JPMorgan</strong> <strong>Chase</strong> offers professional<br />

counseling, consultation and referral<br />

services globally to help employees, their<br />

dependents and/or domestic partner with<br />

stress, emotional issues (such as grief,<br />

depression and anxiety), alcohol and<br />

substance abuse, work-related conflicts,<br />

relationship/family issues and legal or<br />

financial issues.<br />

TALENT<br />

<strong>JPMorgan</strong> <strong>Chase</strong> is committed to helping<br />

employees grow and keeping good<br />

performers within the company. Through<br />

our Talent Reassignment program, we have<br />

made filling roles with talented employees<br />

from within the firm a key priority.<br />
