to Digital Humanities and Digital Literary Studies. The ADHO website provides a list of community
resources and hosts the Humanist discussion group archives. ADHO also oversees the annual Digital
Humanities Conference.

The arts-humanities.net website provides an “onl<strong>in</strong>e hub for research and teach<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the digital arts
and humanities” that “enables members to locate <strong>in</strong>formation, promote their research and discuss
ideas.” This hub was developed by the Centre for e-Research (CeRch) at K<strong>in</strong>g's College London
(KCL) and is coord<strong>in</strong>ated by Torsten Reimer. It <strong>in</strong>corporates several projects, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g ICT Guides
database of projects and methods, which was developed by the AHDS, and the orig<strong>in</strong>al artshumanities.net
developed by Reimer for the AHRC ICT Methods Network. Initial fund<strong>in</strong>g was
provided by the AHRC, and the project is now supported by JISC. A number of projects and groups,
<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the Network of Expert Centers, the Digital Humanities Observatory, the Oxford e-research
center, and the Arts & Humanities e-Science Support Center (AHeSCC), contribute to this hub.
This hub has more than 1,400 registered users, who are able to create a blog, participate <strong>in</strong> discussion
forums, and tag various tools and projects. The website can be browsed by subject discipl<strong>in</strong>e; for
example, brows<strong>in</strong>g by “Classics and Ancient History” 729 br<strong>in</strong>gs the user to a list of resources <strong>in</strong> the
subject, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g recently added digital projects, events, additions to the research bibliography, calls
for papers, and blog entries, among others. Arts-humanities.net also conta<strong>in</strong>s several major
components, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g a catalog of digital resources, a directory of digital tools used <strong>in</strong> projects, a
computational methods taxonomy, a research bibliography and a library of case studies and brief<strong>in</strong>g
papers, an events calendar and list of calls for papers, a community forum that <strong>in</strong>cludes a discussion
forum, a list of members’ blogs and user groups, and an actively updated list of job post<strong>in</strong>gs.
The “Projects” section, which serves as a “catalogue of digital scholarship,” is one of the major
resources on this website and provides several hundred detailed records on digital arts and humanities
projects. 730 While the focus is on U.K. projects, the details provided are extensive, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the types
of digital resources created, the technical methods used, the data formats created, the types of tools
used to create the resource, and several subject head<strong>in</strong>gs. The project catalog can be searched or
browsed alphabetically or by method, discipl<strong>in</strong>e, or content created. The actively updated digital tools
section 731 can be searched by keyword or be browsed alphabetically (as well as by license, life cycle
stage, platform, subject tags [user created], and supported specifications). Another major component of
the website is the ICT methods taxonomy, 732 which <strong>in</strong>cludes seven broad method categories such as
communication and collaboration or data analysis. Each method <strong>in</strong>cludes a list of submethods that
leads to a description and a full list of projects us<strong>in</strong>g that method.
The arts-humanities.net hub fulfills a number of important requirements <strong>in</strong> terms of develop<strong>in</strong>g
humanities <strong>in</strong>frastructure as outl<strong>in</strong>ed above. It is collaborative, supports the creation of communities of
<strong>in</strong>terest, and has created a central place to describe tools and methods to support best practices.
