ENG395 Independent Study in English credits: 1<br />

Junior level independent study.<br />

ENG483 Senior Project credits: 1<br />

Students combine research and practical implementation of theories and concepts to develop<br />

an individual project.<br />

ENG491 Seminar in Literature credits: 3<br />

Students engage in an intensive study of a topic, author, period, or genre. Subject matter<br />

will change from year to year and will generally be announced prior to early registration.<br />

ENG495 Independent Study in English credits: 1<br />

Senior level independent study.<br />

ENS201 Wind Ensemble credits: 1<br />

Study and performance of band literature of all periods and styles. Conducts annual tours.<br />

Formerly INS201.<br />

ENS221 Jazz Ensemble credits: 1<br />

Study and performance of contemporary jazz literature. Performance opportunities will be<br />

through concerts and tour. Formerly INS221.<br />

ENS242 Handbell Ensemble credits: 1<br />

Study and performance of handbell literature. Formerly INS242.<br />

ENV257 LLP credits: 0<br />

The student has the opportunity to earn credit by writing a college-level paper reflecting<br />

learning in this subject through experience, reflection, concept formation, and application<br />

of those concepts to new situations. The paper is evaluated by a <strong>Concordia</strong> faculty member.<br />

ENV258 PST credits: 0<br />

The student petitions to gain academic credit through verification of completed collegelevel<br />

training (seminars, workshops, licenses, apprenticeships, etc.) conducted in a non-collegiate<br />

setting. The petition is evaluated by a <strong>Concordia</strong> faculty member.<br />

ESC201 Physical Geology credits: 3<br />

The earth's crust and its constituents. Geological processes. Common rocks and minerals,<br />

and topographic map study. (Students are responsible for field trip expenses.)<br />

ESC211 Principles of Physical Geography credits: 3<br />

This is an introductory course in physical geography. Primary attention is given to earthsun<br />

relations, climate, landforms and map interpretation. (Students are responsible for field<br />

trip expenses.).<br />

ESC220 Descriptive Astronomy credits: 3<br />

Observational and theoretical studies of the solar system and the extra-solar system. Topics<br />

include the telescope, planets and their satellites, asteroids, comets, meteors, the sun as a<br />

star, characteristics of stars, galaxies, interstellar matter, and the possibility of life elsewhere<br />

in the universe.<br />

ESC257 LLP credits: 0<br />
