+++ The music education program at <strong>Concordia</strong> <strong>University</strong>—<strong>Ann</strong> <strong>Arbor</strong> is transitioning to a new program<br />
to meet the new Michigan K-12 Music Education Standards (JQ). Students seeking to be admitted<br />
to the School of Education in this program entering the program after September 1, 2006 should<br />
consult with an advisor for more information. Only the K-12 music education endorsement will be<br />
offered after the 2006-07 academic year.<br />
Lutheran Teacher Diploma (LTD)<br />
The LTD program is designed to prepare confirmed members of the Lutheran Church-<br />
Missouri Synod to serve as rostered members of the teaching ministry in the schools and<br />
congregations of the church. Designed for both elementary and secondary teacher education<br />
programs, it requires thirteen credits in addition to the graduation requirements for the<br />
elementary and secondary teacher education programs. The courses might also be taken as<br />
electives by any student. The program includes the following courses:<br />

Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification<br />
<strong>Concordia</strong> offers a post-baccalaureate teacher certification program which is designed to enable<br />
individuals who have already earned a bachelor’s degree to complete requirements for teacher<br />
certification in approximately four semesters. The Professional Studies and Specialty Studies in<br />
Education requirements are identical to those in the undergraduate teacher education programs.<br />
A minimum of 6 credits in the field(s) of specialization must be taken in residence.<br />

Pre-Engineering: Liberal Arts<br />
By means of a formal agreement with Kettering <strong>University</strong>, Flint, MI, <strong>Concordia</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />
offers a two-year, pre-engineering program which provides students the opportunity to<br />
transfer to Kettering after two years. By successfully completing an individually prescribed<br />
academic plan while at <strong>Concordia</strong>, the student meets the academic requirements of<br />
Kettering with no loss of credits. In order to complete their pre-engineering studies in two<br />
years, students must prepare themselves well during high school by taking a year of chemistry,<br />
a year of physics, and mathematics through pre-calculus. The specific courses included<br />
in a pre-engineering student’s academic plan will vary with the intended engineering field.<br />
However, academic plans typically include the courses below. Please consult with the preengineering<br />
advisor.<br />
