Fieldwork Requirements<br />

FAM390 Fieldwork I (A & B) 3<br />
FAM490 Fieldwork II (A & B) 3<br />
Students in the Family Life major are required to complete two semesters volunteering with<br />
a church group or community agency prior to applying for admission to the Family Life<br />
major. Fieldwork I (FAM 390 A & B) will normally be taken in the junior year; students<br />
will spend 120 clock hours each semester at a non-profit agency that supports and /or educates<br />
families. Fieldwork II (FAM490 A & B) will normally be taken in the senior year; students<br />
will spend 120 clock hours each semester, or by special arrangement a student may be<br />
permitted to substitute a full time one semester placement, working with a Family Life professional<br />
in a congregational setting. Students not intending to work in a congregational<br />
setting will do Fieldwork II at a human services community agency.<br />
