SPA414 Adv Spanish Composition/Conversation credits: 3<br />

Provides intensive training in composition, translation, and conversation. Essential aspects<br />

include advanced grammar review and the study of specialized vocabulary. Combined with<br />

oral guidance, this course is designed to increase accuracy in writing levels and proficiency<br />

of expression. Class work revolves around frequent writing compositions, selected reading,<br />

discussion, and vocabulary building. (Study Abroad - Segovia)<br />

SPA483 Senior Project credits: 1<br />

Students combine research and practical implementation of theories and concepts to develop<br />

an individual project.<br />

SPA495 Independent Study in Spanish credits: 1<br />

Senior level independent study.<br />

SSC257 LLP credits: 0<br />

The student has the opportunity to earn credit by writing a college-level paper reflecting<br />

learning in this subject through experience, reflection, concept formation, and application<br />

of those concepts to new situations. The paper is evaluated by a <strong>Concordia</strong> faculty member.<br />

SSC258 PST credits: 0<br />

The student petitions to gain academic credit through verification of completed collegelevel<br />

training (seminars, workshops, licenses, apprenticeships, etc.) conducted in a non-collegiate<br />

setting. The petition is evaluated by a <strong>Concordia</strong> faculty member.<br />

SSC295 Independent Study in Social Science credits: 1<br />

Sophomore level independent study.<br />

This course is a study of the methods science applies to social and behavioral research; experimental<br />

design, survey research, participant observation, and other unobtrusive measures.<br />

SSC451 Issues in Social Science credits: 3<br />

Students examine selected current issues in social science from multidisciplinary perspectives.<br />

STR101 Beginning Guitar I credits: 2<br />

Students learn the fundamentals of guitar playing, including basic technique, playing by<br />

ear, and music notation, through the performance of simple melodies. Beginning chords<br />

and strums for accompanying group events such as praise song gatherings and worship will<br />

be covered.<br />
