902. Installation of Eliminator or Trap<br />
Where necessary, suitable eliminators or traps shall be installed<br />
by the customer in such a manner as to prevent radio,<br />
telephone and television interference feeding back into the<br />
supply circuit.<br />
903. Service Quality Requirements<br />
Where service is required for a transmitting station or other<br />
high frequency equipment at specific locations, it is essential<br />
that the NSTAR New Customer Connect Tech Center be<br />
contacted during early planning. Detailed technical<br />
investigation will be necessary before giving assurance of<br />
service to meet exacting requirements.<br />
904. Attachments to Poles Prohibited<br />
The attachment of antennae systems to poles carrying NSTAR’s<br />
conductors is strictly prohibited due to the possibility of<br />
serious results from accidental contacts. Such attachments will<br />
be removed immediately upon discovery by NSTAR at<br />
customer expense.<br />
905. Clearance from NSTAR Conductors<br />
Outdoor antennae, counterpoise and lead-in conductors shall<br />
not cross over, but may cross under electric power circuits<br />
provided that the requirements of both the Massachusetts<br />
General Laws Chapter 166, Sections 21A through 21G and the<br />
National Electrical Safety Code are met. These facilities shall<br />
be kept away from all such circuits so as to avoid the possibility<br />
of accidental contact by a falling antenna or lead-in wires.<br />
906. Carrier Equipment<br />
If a customer’s wiring is used for carrying current of a carrier<br />
system for remote control of power, communication, or<br />
signaling purposes, there must be installed suitable filter<br />
equipment approved by NSTAR to keep NSTAR’s distribution<br />
system free of any high frequency component produced by the<br />
customer’s equipment.<br />
907. Community Antenna Television (CATV) Systems<br />
Community Antenna Television (CATV) Systems’ requests to<br />
install coaxial cable or poles for the distribution of high<br />
frequency signals employed in CATV systems shall be referred<br />
to NSTAR. Request for power supply to a CATV power pack<br />
or booster shall be referred to the NSTAR New Customer<br />
Connect Tech Center. All construction shall conform to the<br />
requirements of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 166A,<br />
Community Antenna Television Systems NSTAR Standards,The<br />
Massachusetts Electrical Code, Article 820, and any other<br />
regulations for CATV pole line attachments.<br />
908. Cellular Telephone Towers<br />
Providers of cellular telephone service will be required to<br />
contact the NSTAR New Customer Connect Tech Center<br />
before the installation of any facilities.<br />
909. Town Owned Street Lights<br />
Some of the communities that NSTAR serves have purchased<br />
the street lights and associated equipment from NSTAR. In<br />
communities where this sale has occurred, the town or any<br />
third party contractor of the town is responsible for the<br />
operation and maintenance of the street lights and associated<br />
equipment. NSTAR’s only obligation is to make or break the<br />
connection to its distribution system. Please contact your<br />
NSTAR Account Executive if there are any questions<br />
concerning town owned street lighting.<br />
