Breathing New Verve into The Nutcracker

Goh Ballet returns with its refreshing rendering of The Nutcracker, produced by Chan
Hon Goh with Tchaikovsky’s score and performed live by the Vancouver Opera Orchestra.
From December 18th to 22th, Vancouverites can treat their family to Goh’s
mesmerizing version of Clara’s dream come to life as she journeys from a snowy
wonderland to the Fairyland of Sweets. Adventure abounds when her Nutcracker
encounters the evil Mouse King and his legion of mice. With scintillating costumes
and enchanting sets, this interpretation is poised to steal the spotlight this season.

Oregon, for the world’s largest
Christmas Festival of Lights. Sip hot
chocolate and be dazzled by 500,000
lights, choral concerts, a petting zoo,
and puppet shows. Do browse the
Grotto’s gift shop and bookstore.
This year’s theme, “Angels on High,”
spreads the message of hope. The
Grotto’s 600-seat chapel presents five
concerts each evening, from November
27th to December 30th — except
on Christmas Day. A gift of canned or
dry food for the Oregon Food Bank is
heartily welcomed.
