This year the Annual Meeting will<br />

open <strong>of</strong>ficially <strong>at</strong> noon on Monday and<br />

close Friday noon, which gives opportunity<br />

for one more session than in<br />

previous years. <strong>The</strong> Ohio Society <strong>of</strong><br />

Sanitarians and the Ohio <strong>Health</strong><br />

Commissioners will hold their annual<br />

meetings in conjunction with the<br />

A. P. H. A. in Cincinn<strong>at</strong>i.<br />

Each <strong>of</strong> the nine sections <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Associ<strong>at</strong>ion—Labor<strong>at</strong>ory, <strong>Health</strong> Officers,<br />

Vital St<strong>at</strong>istics, Public <strong>Health</strong><br />

Engineering, Industrial Hygiene,<br />

Food and Drugs, Child Hygiene, Public<br />

<strong>Health</strong> Educ<strong>at</strong>ion, and Public<br />

<strong>Health</strong> Nursing—will hold individual<br />

section meetings. In some instances<br />

two or more sections will combine for<br />

joint meetings. <strong>The</strong> topic for discussion<br />

<strong>at</strong> the forum session is, "Has<br />

Prohibition Promoted the Public<br />

<strong>Health</strong>" C.-E. A. Winslow, Dr.<br />

P. H., Yale <strong>University</strong>, presiding.<br />

One session will be given to the discussion<br />

<strong>of</strong> mental hygiene from the<br />

angle <strong>of</strong> the home, the school, and<br />

the industrial field. An analysis will<br />

be made by a special committee on<br />

the health programs in oper<strong>at</strong>ion in<br />

normal schools and colleges and will<br />

be supplemented by constructive suggestions.<br />

Dr. Herman N. Bundesen, health<br />

commissioner <strong>of</strong> Chicago; Dr. William<br />

H. Park, <strong>of</strong> the New York City<br />

<strong>Health</strong> Department Labor<strong>at</strong>ories; Dr.<br />

Clarence E. Smith, <strong>of</strong> the U. S. Public<br />

<strong>Health</strong> Service, and C. W. Larson<br />

<strong>of</strong> the U. S. Department <strong>of</strong> Agriculture,<br />

are among the specialists<br />

asked to give the most recent developments<br />

in the sanitary production and<br />

handling <strong>of</strong> milk.<br />

Several luncheon and dinner meetings<br />

will be held by sections including<br />

Labor<strong>at</strong>ory, Public <strong>Health</strong> Engineering,<br />

Industrial Hygiene, Food and<br />

Drugs, and Public <strong>Health</strong> Educ<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />

Besides a special session on venereal<br />

disease control, a round table luncheon<br />

confei'ence has been scheduled.<br />

Trips to points <strong>of</strong> intei*est in and<br />

around Cincinn<strong>at</strong>i have been arranged<br />

by the local committee. An <strong>at</strong>tractive<br />

program for the entertainment<br />

<strong>of</strong> the women guests and deleg<strong>at</strong>es <strong>at</strong><br />

the Annual Meeting has been provided<br />

by the Cincinn<strong>at</strong>i committee.<br />

Railroads will grant the usual reduced<br />

r<strong>at</strong>es to members and fellows<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Associ<strong>at</strong>ion going to Cincinn<strong>at</strong>i<br />

for the meeting. Transport<strong>at</strong>ion certific<strong>at</strong>es<br />

will be mailed to members<br />

<strong>of</strong> the American Public <strong>Health</strong> Associ<strong>at</strong>ion,<br />

September first. Applic<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

for reduced fare certific<strong>at</strong>es and<br />

for inform<strong>at</strong>ion should be made to<br />
