proves to them that they are infecting
their children, and it is easier to get
them to practice the necessary precautions.
The demonstration of the fact
that one out of four children who are
materially underweight have tuberculous
infection, furnishes a warning to
both parents and teachers to safeguard
the health of the child and arouses
interest in the whole subject of health
of the children three months after the
clinic in one community showed that
five and one-half pounds.
The liearty cooperation of the local
health and school autliorities has been
most encouraging to us. The enthusiastic
interest in tlie health of their
pupils of all school superintendents,
principals and teachers, with whom we
have been brought in contact through
the clinics, is to us a most encouraging
evidence of the splendid progress in
health work which is being made
throughout our State.
