site, it is one of the oldest operational mines
in Europe dating back more than 700 years.

Day 5 – Krakow: Full day at leisure to further
explore the city or optional tour to the Wawel
royal castle, one of the most magnificent
Renaissance palaces in Europe. (B)
Day 6 – To Wroclaw: Morning drive to
Wroclaw, stopping en route to visit the former
concentration camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Transfer to the Sofitel Wroclaw for 1 night. (B)

THE JOURNEY
Day 1 – To Warsaw: Morning flight from
London Heathrow to Warsaw with LOT Polish
Airlines. Transfer to the Sofitel Victoria for 2
nights. (N)
Day 2 – Warsaw: Morning tour of the old
town, which was successfully rebuilt after its
Rowhouses, Old Market Square, Poznan
Spend 3 nights in a 5-star hotel in Krakow, five minutes walk from Rynek Glowny
View the magnificent carvings of the Wieliczka salt mine
Poignant visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau & the Oscar Schindler factory
complete devastation during the Warsaw
uprising. View the old town square, city walls
and Cathedral of St John. Afternoon at leisure
or optional tour to the 16th-century royal
castle to see the ornate staterooms of the
imperial residence. (B)
Day 3 – To Krakow: Morning drive south from
the capital into Lesser Poland, stopping to
visit Jasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa,
the biggest pilgrimage site in Poland. Founded
in the 14th century, visitors are attracted to
the monastery to view the icon of the Black
Madonna. Stay 3 nights at the Holiday Inn. (B)
Day 4 – Krakow: Morning tour of the ancient
capital of Poland. View Rynek Glowny, the
medieval square that is considered to be one
of the best-preserved examples in Europe,
the Church of St Mary, the Cathedral of Saints
Stanislaw and Waclaw, and tour the Oskar
Day 7 – Torun: Morning walking tour of
Wroclaw, which is known as the ‘city of 100
bridges’. Visit Ostrow Tumski island, which is
the oldest part of the city, and the old market
square with its gothic city hall surrounded
by burgher houses. Continue to the rotunda
to view the Panorama of Raclawice, which
depicts the 18th-century battle of Raclawice.
Afternoon drive from Wroclaw to Torun via
Poznan to view the cathedral, the old town
quarter including the market square and the
town hall. Stay 1 night at the Mercure Helios.

Day 8 – To London: Morning tour to explore
the medieval town of Torun. Founded by the
Teutonic knights, it is renowned for its gothic
architecture. Afternoon drive to the airport
and fly to London Heathrow with LOT Polish
Airlines. (B)
