HEALTH & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All the destinations featured in this brochure have
specific entry regulations and requirements, and
many have recommended health precautions. The
requirements and recommendations in force at the
time of publication are detailed below. If there are any
changes, you will be informed when you book. However,
it is your responsibility to double-check relevant
requirements and recommendations before departure
to ensure that you comply with them and take with you
the correct documentation for the country or countries
that you are visiting.
Please note that the entry requirements listed are only
valid for British citizens. All other nationalities should
check with Cox & Kings for advice. Regarding any
inoculations or health precautions that may be needed,
Cox & Kings recommends that you consult your GP or
travel clinic for personal advice.

Key to the codes:
A: Full valid British passport (minimum six months
validity from the intended date of return).

Changes to requirements and recommendations:
The above information is accurate at the time of
publication (August 2012). Please note that Cox &
Kings will advise you before accepting your booking
should there be any subsequent changes to the above
recommendations and requirements.
You should contact your doctor or Masta (Medical
Advisory Service for Travellers Abroad), which operates
a travellers’ health advice line costing £1 per minute, on
telephone number 0906 822 4100. They will be able to give
you professional advice and arrange any vaccinations. You
can also obtain a leaflet from the Department of Health,
Health Advice for Travellers (T7.1), by telephoning 0300 123
1002 or online as a pdf at www.dh.gov.uk and find further
useful health advice for travellers at

GENERAL HEALTH ADVICE
In addition to the inoculation advice above, we
recommend that you observe the following general
health tips on your holiday:
• Drink only bottled water and check the seal is secure
when you receive it.
• Do not eat raw vegetables, unpeeled fruit, and raw or
uncooked seafood.
• Avoid food and drink from street vendors and
restaurants that might have suspect refrigeration and
sanitary practices.
PASSPORTS & EMBASSIES
This advice is valid only for British citizens. Any clients
that hold a non-British passport must contact the
relevant embassy below. It is important that you hold
a valid 10-year British passport, and we recommend
that your passport is valid for six months from your
date of return to the UK. Passports can be obtained
from the Post Office or online at www.direct.gov.uk/
en/travelandtrasport/passports. A filled-out application
form, birth certificate and two passport photographs
(one to be signed by a referee who has known you for
two years) are required. The cost for postal application is
£77.50 and it can take up to three weeks to obtain from
the date of application.

VISAS & CHARGES
Of the destinations covered in this brochure, only
Russia, Armenia, Turkey, North Cyprus and Belarus
require a visa for entry (this applies to British citizen
passport holders only). Current charges and application
procedures are detailed below. The prices are correct
at the time of publication, however the government
reserves the right to change them without prior notice.
Cox & Kings will advise of any changes prior to booking.
If your itinerary involves leaving Russia and re-entering at
a later stage, you will need a double- or multiple-entry
visa, which may cost more.
Granting visas: Cox & Kings will be happy to assist
with any necessary visa applications on your behalf.
We cannot, however, guarantee the granting of any visas,
as this is a matter outside our control. If, through no fault
of Cox & Kings, a visa is not granted, then we cannot
accept any liability for the consequences and reserve
the right to pass on to you any costs we incur as a
result, including cancellation charges.
• Armenian tourist visa: Upon arrival in Armenia. The
current charge is US$9 / €5-6 / AMD3,000.
• Belarus visa: We recommend that you obtain your visa
through ASLA Travel Visa Department. The cost for a
single entry visa is £115; this includes a visa processing
fee and fee for obtaining the visa authorisation letter
required for your application. It is recommended that
you send the application via special delivery, six to eight
weeks prior to departure, to: Visa Dept, ASLA Ltd,
Riverside House, 160 High Street, Huntingdon, Cambs
PE29 3TF. You can contact them on telephone number
01480 433 800, by fax on 01480 433 799, or by email
at visas@asla-select.co.uk.
• Russian tourist visa: It is not possible for Cox & Kings
to obtain Russian visas on your behalf. We have
negotiated a special rate through ASLA Travel Visa
Department. The cost for a single-entry visa is £70; this
is in addition to the handling fee of £35 per person. It is
recommended that you send the application via special
delivery six to eight weeks prior to departure, to: Visa
Dept, ASLA Ltd, Riverside House, 160 High Street,
Huntingdon, Cambs PE29 3TF. You can contact them
on telephone number 01480 433 800, by fax on
01480 433 799, or by email at visas@asla-select.co.uk.
• Russian river cruises: The single-entry visa costs £115.
Please apply for your visa through ASLA as above. In
addition, you will require a visa authorisation letter
available from our visa department.
• Trans Siberian Express: Visas package costs £234.60.
• Northern Cyprus: See Turkey.
• Turkish sticker-type visa: Upon arrival in Turkey you will
be given a sticker-type visa. The current charge for this
is £10 per person.
