THE JOURNEY<br />

Day 1 – to istanbul: Fly from Heathrow to<br />

Istanbul with British Airways. Transfer to the<br />

Ayasofya Mansions / Four Seasons Hotel<br />

Istanbul, Sultanahmet* for 3 nights. (N)<br />

Days 2-3 – istanbul: Full days at leisure or<br />

optional tour of Istanbul, including Agia Sofia,<br />

the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Grand Bazaar<br />

and Topkapi Palace. (B)<br />

Day 4 – to Cappadocia: Morning transfer<br />

to the airport for a Turkish Airlines flight to<br />

Kayseri. Transfer to the Yunak Houses Hotel /<br />

Museum Hotel* for 3 nights. (B)<br />

Days 5-6 – Cappadocia: Days at leisure.<br />

Alternatively, take optional excursions to the<br />

underground cities at Derinkuyu and Kaymakli<br />

or the Göreme open-air museum to see its<br />

Day 7 – to London: Morning transfer to the<br />

airport and fly to London Heathrow with<br />

THE JOURNEY<br />

Day 1 – to istanbul: Fly from London<br />

Heathrow to Istanbul with British Airways.<br />

Transfer to the Ottoman Imperial Hotel or<br />

similar for 2 nights. (N)<br />

Day 2 – istanbul: Full-day tour of Istanbul,<br />

including Hagia Sofia, built as a church by<br />

Emperor Justinian in the sixth century, the<br />

Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Grand Bazaar and<br />

Topkapi Palace. (B)<br />

Day 3 – to Canakkale: Morning drive to<br />

Canakkale. Afternoon visit to the Gallipoli<br />

battlefield, scene of the aborted Allied<br />

invasion of 1915. Visit Kabatepe museum, Suvla<br />

battlefield, Gully beach, Gully ravine and Anzac<br />

Cove. Stay at the Gallipoli Houses Hotel for 1<br />

Day 4 – to istanbul: Morning visits to the<br />

Lone Pine cemetery and Chunuk Bair New<br />

Zealand memorial and cemetery. Drive<br />

to Istanbul, stopping en route at Troy. View<br />

the archaeological ruins of the city of Troy,<br />

legendary for its Trojan horse. You will visit the<br />

site of the city. Stay 1 night at the Ottoman<br />

Day 5 – to London: Early afternoon transfer<br />

to the airport for and fly to London Heathrow<br />
