Environmental management system<br />
As part of its commitment to environmental management, <strong>Mazda</strong> is<br />
actively build<strong>in</strong>g and improv<strong>in</strong>g its environmental management<br />
system. In FY 2000 all major production po<strong>in</strong>ts both <strong>in</strong> Japan and<br />
overseas were certified under ISO14001, followed by n<strong>in</strong>e of our<br />
major affiliates <strong>in</strong> FY 2002.<br />
In FY 2003 the Head Office R&D Divisions were certified, and <strong>in</strong> FY<br />
2004 the <strong>Mazda</strong> Parts Center and <strong>Mazda</strong> Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Center were added<br />
to the scope of certification for the Hiroshima area. We are assist<strong>in</strong>g<br />
our parts and materials suppliers <strong>in</strong> acquir<strong>in</strong>g ISO14001 certification,<br />
and as of the end of FY 2004 95% of our suppliers have been<br />
successful <strong>in</strong> their efforts. We are now <strong>in</strong>vestigat<strong>in</strong>g the possibility of<br />
implement<strong>in</strong>g our unique management system <strong>in</strong> uncertified smallscale<br />
enterprises, Group companies and suppliers.<br />

Representative directors from dealerships meet regularly with <strong>Mazda</strong> officers <strong>in</strong><br />
charge of sales. At the meet<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> May 2005, <strong>Mazda</strong> requested dealership<br />
cooperation <strong>in</strong> the follow<strong>in</strong>g four po<strong>in</strong>ts related to CSR.<br />
