Respect for Human Rights<br />

Alongside respect<strong>in</strong>g the human rights of every one of our employees, we are also <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>gly required to ensure an<br />

environment <strong>in</strong> which each of us respects one another. <strong>Mazda</strong> aims to become a lead<strong>in</strong>g company <strong>in</strong> the area of<br />

respect for human rights, and to this end we have established a Human Rights Committee and a set of regulations to<br />

end the <strong>in</strong>fr<strong>in</strong>gement of human rights.<br />

The Human Rights Committee and the Elim<strong>in</strong>at<strong>in</strong>g Human Rights Violations Rules<br />

Structure of the Human Rights Committee<br />

<strong>Mazda</strong> established its rules and regulations relat<strong>in</strong>g to the prevention of<br />

human rights <strong>in</strong>fr<strong>in</strong>gements on October 25, 2000 with the enactment of<br />

Elim<strong>in</strong>at<strong>in</strong>g Human Rights Violations Rules, and conduces monitor<strong>in</strong>g of the<br />

status of adherence to these rules, along with promot<strong>in</strong>g human rights <strong>in</strong> a<br />

wide variety of policies, which are decided by the Human Rights Committee.<br />

Through these measures, we aim to achieve and strengthen a spirit of<br />

respect for human rights throughout the company. Where cases of human<br />

rights <strong>in</strong>fr<strong>in</strong>gement are acknowledged, we have a Human Rights Counsel<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Desk and a Female Employee Counsel<strong>in</strong>g Desk, which act as a w<strong>in</strong>dow for<br />

<strong>in</strong>itial claims and compla<strong>in</strong>ts, and we have a system <strong>in</strong> place that aims to take<br />

appropriate measures without <strong>in</strong>fr<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g human rights. We also implement a<br />

wide range of tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g and educational programs relat<strong>in</strong>g to human rights.<br />

All employees are forbidden from all violations of human rights <strong>in</strong> corporate activity,<br />

whether at the workplace or elsewhere, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g rights related to race, nationality,<br />

creed, gender, social stand<strong>in</strong>g, orig<strong>in</strong>, age, physical disability or sexual preference;<br />

from sexual harassment; and from other <strong>in</strong>appropriate actions.<br />

All violations of these regulations, violations of human rights, or retaliatory actions<br />

shall be reported to <strong>Mazda</strong>.<br />

All retaliatory action <strong>in</strong> response to reports of human rights violations, or to<br />

cooperation with <strong>in</strong>vestigations, is forbidden.<br />
