13. Programming / Schedules.
Daily schedule posted.
Flexible scheduling to meet child’s needs/interests, inclement weather.
Children’s interests and strengths are incorporated into planned activities.
Plans available but changes are made to meet the needs of the group with the overall
program goals being met.
Plans are referred back to if “spur of the moment” plans begin to fall apart.
Changes to programming are posted immediately to inform parents/guardians.
Programs are designed to accommodate a variety of developmentally appropriate
activities.
Ongoing projects/crafts are incorporated into planned programming.
Programming allows for a balance of meeting the children’s interests and needs while at
the same time meeting the goals planned for the whole group.
Comments:
Plans help children with understanding what is coming up next and what to expect.
Changes to the program need to be explained to the children to prepare for a smooth
transition.
Mixture of child initiated and adult initiated.
Allows for children to develop as per their needs and uniqueness.
Outdoor times are always reflective in planning and are extensions of playroom planning.
During the summer when the children are outside for longer periods of time the program
plan will be accommodating to meet this need.

Pleasant.
Laughter, noise, chatter.
Inviting.
Children appear busy.
Staff appear very patient and caring.
