SUPERVISION:
1. Child:Staff ratio.
In a situation when being short staffed takes place, a working plan previously developed
is implemented ensuring all children are supervised at all times.
Additional staff/assistance is readily available.
2. Support staff/services in place for cooking, maintenance and cleaning tasks.
In a situation when being short staffed will affect the daily operation of the program, a
working plan previously developed is implemented ensuring all program operations are
maintained at the least to minimum.
3. Staff greet visitors upon arrival.
Unfamiliar visitors are asked the purpose of their visit.
Staff approach unknown persons on site immediately.
4. Head Counts
Before and after each transition.
Staff are aware of the number and location of children at all times.
Each time there is a change in staff within programs.
Staff update relieving staff on number of children in program and the whereabouts of
children not in the room but part of the group.
