33. No excavati<strong>on</strong> or c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> work to commence <strong>on</strong> site until all silt/sediment c<strong>on</strong>trol<br />

34. The developer/applicant is to obtain a “Road Opening Permit” from Council and pay all<br />
appropriate charges prior to commencement <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> any work <strong>on</strong> Council property.<br />
The developer/applicant shall be resp<strong>on</strong>sible for all public utilities and services in the<br />
area <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the work, and as such shall notify all relevant Authorities, and bear all costs<br />
associated with any repairs and/or adjustments as those Authorities <strong>may</strong> deem<br />
necessary. (C113)<br />
DURING WORKS<br />
35. Hours <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> being restricted to 7am to 5pm M<strong>on</strong>day to Friday, Saturday 7am<br />
to 1pm if audible at residential premises. No audible c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> work to take place<br />
outside these hours. (C326)<br />
36. A pers<strong>on</strong> taking down, demolishing or causing to be taken down or demolished any<br />
building or part there<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> shall, up<strong>on</strong> identifying or suspecting that asbestos is present in<br />
the building, immediately notify the Work Cover Authority. The Authority is the<br />
c<strong>on</strong>trolling body for the safe removal, handling and disposal <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> asbestos. The Authority<br />
supervises and m<strong>on</strong>itors c<strong>on</strong>tractors engaged in asbestos removal. The requirements<br />
and standards imposed by the Authority, its c<strong>on</strong>sultants or c<strong>on</strong>tractors shall be complied<br />
with. (C530)<br />
37. Signs to be Erected <strong>on</strong> Building and Demoliti<strong>on</strong> Sites. (C382)<br />
a. A sign must be erected in a prominent positi<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> any work site <strong>on</strong> which work<br />
involved in the erecti<strong>on</strong> or demoliti<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> a building is being carried out:<br />
(i) stating that unauthorised entry to the work site is prohibited, and<br />
(ii) showing the name <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the pers<strong>on</strong> in charge <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the work site and a teleph<strong>on</strong>e<br />
number at which that pers<strong>on</strong> <strong>may</strong> be c<strong>on</strong>tacted outside working hours.<br />
b. Any such sign is to be removed when the work has been completed.<br />
c. This clause does not apply to:<br />
(i)<br />
(ii)<br />
building work carried out inside an existing building, or<br />
building work carried out <strong>on</strong> premises that are to be occupied c<strong>on</strong>tinuously<br />
(both during and outside working hours) while the work is being carried<br />
out.<br />
38. Adequate protecti<strong>on</strong> measures are to be employed to retain excavated areas during the<br />
c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> process. (C37)<br />
39. Provisi<strong>on</strong> shall be made throughout the period <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong> to prevent transmissi<strong>on</strong><br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> soil to the public road and drainage system by vehicles leaving the site. (C44)<br />
40. Temporary safety balustrade to be provided to all excavati<strong>on</strong>s adjoining or in close<br />
proximity to the boundaries <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the allotment in accordance with Work Cover Authority<br />
requirements. (C316)<br />
41. Footpath and roadway being kept free <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> obstructi<strong>on</strong> by building materials and plant.<br />
All c<strong>on</strong>crete trucks, pumps and/or agitators being kept wholly within the building site.<br />
No c<strong>on</strong>crete or slurry being discharged <strong>on</strong>to Council’s street surfaces, nature strips,<br />
drains/gutters, reserves parks etc. (C3<strong>21</strong>)<br />
