As it can be seen from the table, the data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of<br />

Serbia show that the difference between salaries of the highest level of educated employees<br />

and unqualified workers in September, 2008 was 256,83%. For the same period, the<br />

structure of the unemployed, according to their qualifications is presented in table 3.<br />

The data given show that with increase in education level wages rise, whereas unemployment<br />

rate falls. Thus, it is perfectly understandable that more and more people see education as<br />

an investment that would provide them with a job, higher earnings and better life quality.<br />

Not only that education has positive implications for individuals, but there is compelling<br />
