information requested will “contribute <strong>to</strong> the public interest” <strong>and</strong> 2) if the information<br />

will not be used for “commercial gain.” So your request should say something like:<br />

“This information is important in order for us <strong>to</strong> represent our members on health <strong>and</strong><br />

safety issues <strong>and</strong> <strong>to</strong> improve safety <strong>and</strong> health in the workplace. None of this information<br />

will be used for commercial gain.”<br />

The OSHA website (www.osha.gov) currently has inspection results by employer name.<br />

This information includes the date of the inspection, the st<strong>and</strong>ards that were violated, <strong>and</strong><br />

related penalties. To get the full inspection file requires a FOIA request.<br />
