Park <strong>Plan</strong>ning District 8<br />
District 8 is located in southeast <strong>Lakeville</strong> defined by Dodd Boulevard on the west, 200 th<br />
<strong>and</strong> 202 nd Streets on the north, <strong>and</strong> the <strong>City</strong> boundaries on the south <strong>and</strong> east.<br />
2020 L<strong>and</strong> Use <strong>Plan</strong><br />
District 8 includes the <strong>Lakeville</strong> Central Business District <strong>and</strong> surrounding residential<br />
neighborhoods, Airlake Industrial Park, <strong>and</strong> Ardmour Village manufactured housing<br />
community. Most <strong>of</strong> the l<strong>and</strong> is within the <strong>City</strong>’s existing MUSA. The l<strong>and</strong> lying outside<br />
the MUSA within the northern portion <strong>of</strong> the District is anticipated to be included by year<br />
2010. The 2020 L<strong>and</strong> Use <strong>Plan</strong> anticipates a full range <strong>of</strong> l<strong>and</strong> uses within District 8.<br />
New residential l<strong>and</strong> uses are expected in both the southwest <strong>and</strong> eastern portions <strong>of</strong><br />
the district. The L<strong>and</strong> Use <strong>Plan</strong> emphasizes a broad range <strong>of</strong> residential densities<br />
including low density, low to medium, medium, <strong>and</strong> medium to high density residential<br />
housing types. Implementation <strong>of</strong> the 2020 L<strong>and</strong> Use <strong>Plan</strong> will change District 8’s result<br />
in a 2020 population <strong>of</strong> 7,304. The proposed l<strong>and</strong> use <strong>and</strong> population changes will<br />
create additional need for neighborhood parks.<br />
