Policies - Historic Sites:<br />
1. The <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lakeville</strong> shall pursue, to the extent possible, the preservation <strong>of</strong> l<strong>and</strong><br />
parcels or structures which have unusual or unique historical significance to the<br />
community.<br />
2. Historical site support facilities may include, but shall not be limited to, parking,<br />
comfort facilities, trails <strong>and</strong> signing.<br />
St<strong>and</strong>ards - Special Use Park/Facilities:<br />
1. Independent facilities designed for the specific needs <strong>of</strong> identifiable groups shall<br />
be designated specialized facilities (i.e., children, senior citizens, etc.).<br />
Policies - Special Use Park/Facilities:<br />
1. To the extent possible, the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lakeville</strong> will address <strong>and</strong> provide for the<br />
specialized needs <strong>of</strong> identifiable groups in the community.<br />
2. Specialized facilities <strong>and</strong> services shall be fully researched prior to<br />
implementation to insure designs <strong>and</strong> accommodations are adequate <strong>and</strong> fully<br />
address amenities which are needed.<br />
3. The <strong>City</strong> will pursue partnering with adjoining communities, local school districts,<br />
or other governmental entities to provide special use facilities without duplication.<br />
4. Multi-use facilities will be provided to exp<strong>and</strong> the range <strong>of</strong> uses within existing<br />
parks either not currently <strong>of</strong>fered or limited by season.<br />
5. The <strong>City</strong> will investigate special use facilities when planning park upgrades or<br />
redevelopment.<br />
6. Cooperative ventures with the private sector will be explored to provide special<br />
use facilities not <strong>of</strong>fered within the community.<br />
St<strong>and</strong>ards - Maintenance <strong>and</strong> Operation:<br />
1. Provide for the efficient maintenance <strong>and</strong> operation <strong>of</strong> clean, orderly, controlled,<br />
safe <strong>and</strong> attractive park l<strong>and</strong>s <strong>and</strong> recreation facilities. Park maintenance <strong>and</strong><br />
operation shall safeguard the physical condition <strong>of</strong> parks <strong>and</strong> open spaces from<br />
deterioration or damage from weather, v<strong>and</strong>alism, <strong>and</strong> other natural or human<br />
causes.<br />
