StoreFront 5.0 After you have finished installing StoreFront, open FrontPage 2000. You will notice two additions to FrontPage’s menu items. There should be a new floating toolbar in the center of the FrontPage window. This is the StoreFront toolbar. All of the StoreFront development tools can be accessed from here. You will also notice a new menu called StoreFront50 in the FrontPage menu bar. If you click on this menu, it will open into four new tool options, plus an “About StoreFront” option. These are the same tools that can be accessed by clicking on the icons of the StoreFront toolbar. The development tools you access through the StoreFront menu and StoreFront toolbar act as the interfaces you will use to manage and build your StoreFront web. You will not be able to access these tools until you have performed some initial configuration tasks. The following pages, however, should provide you with a brief virtual tour of the StoreFront development tools at your disposal, and the functions each performs. The StoreFront Help Files You can access the StoreFront help files by clicking the Help icon of the StoreFront toolbar or menu. You can also find additional resources online in the StoreFront Knowledge Base at www.StoreFront.net. SUPPORT RESOURCES Every licensed StoreFront user is entitled to one year of free email support and 2 free incidences of phone support. When these resources have been expended, additional support services can be purchased at www.StoreFront.net. These include Priority Support Gold, which provides unlimited toll-free access to the StoreFront Support Team, and the Web Development Assistance Plan, a program where a technician will work closely with you and your host to configure and test your StoreFront site and any related services. Additional StoreFront Support tools and resources can be accessed from the StoreFront Support Site at www.StoreFront.net. 20
User Guide When emailing StoreFront Support (support@storefront.net), please include the following information. The more information you provide, the more rapidly your problem will be resolved. · What version of StoreFront are you using? · Exactly what do you do to cause the error or problem you are encountering? · What is the location of the web? Is it running on your local machine? If so, what is your operating system? · If the web is running on a live server, what is the URL to the web? Who is hosting the web? · If you encounter an error message, include the COMPLETE text of any and all errors. The StoreFront Database Connection Box All of the data used by your StoreFront web - customer information, product inventory, configuration information - is stored in the storefront.mdb Access database within your web, or in the SQL Server database (see page 37).
