USING THE AFFILIATE PARTNERS PROGRAM StoreFront has built-in support for an affiliate trading program. StoreFront’s affiliate program allows other webmasters to create a special link from a page on their site to an ASP page on your site. When someone clicks on this link and is referred to your site, StoreFront begins tracking the customer. If the customer orders merchandise from your site, it is recorded that Customer A from Affiliate A placed an order in the site. A running count of the total orders placed by customers referred to your site by each affiliate will be kept, and can be accessed through the Affiliate Sales Reports (page 218). You can then pay a commission to the affiliate partner as a reward for their business. Continue reading to learn more about creating and administering affiliate partners. Creating Affiliate Partners Affiliate programs are an excellent way to build business relationships and to attract traffic to a new site. Follow the steps below to create new affiliate partners. 1. Locate the site you want to establish the affiliate relationship with, ideally one that complements or parallels your own site. Contact the site’s webmaster and establish the ground rules for the relationship: where your link will be placed, the amount of the commission that will be offered for referred sales, etc. 2. Direct the prospective affiliate to the affiliate.asp page in your web. This is the affiliate logon page. By clicking on New Account, your new affiliate can submit their information and create an account. The affiliate.asp page will also provide them with the syntax of the special link they should create to your site. 210

Track the revenue you get from sales to customers referred by the affiliate site by using the Affiliate Sales Report tool (page 218). Pay your affiliate partner according to your agreement. Your affiliates can view the same information by going to affiliate.asp and entering their user name and password, then clicking Submit. Administering Affiliate Partners You can modify or review the information for any of your affiliate partners. The Administer Affiliate tool is a great way to keep track of affiliate contact information. Follow the directions below to learn more. 1. Open the Merchant Tools in your browser. Click the link for Administer Affiliates under the Store Management section. 2. Select the Affiliate you want to modify in the list and click Edit. 3. Click Remove to delete an Affiliate from your list. BECOMING A STOREFRONT AFFILIATE PARTNER: In addition to creating affiliate partners of your own, you can become a StoreFront Affiliate Partner. Commissions for StoreFront Affiliate Partners are 15% of all sales generated from orders which originate directly from your StoreFront Affiliate Referral link. Sales on the StoreFront web site generally range from $200.00 to over $1,000.00 per transaction, producing commissions of $30.00 to $150.00 per sale for orders generated from your link.
