Utilize design treatments (signage and lighting in particular) that make driving safer and more comfortable.Follow best management practices to reduce red light running and improve safety at signal controlled intersections including LEDlenses, black backplates, appropriate number and placement of signal heads, adequate warning for traffic lights, improved signaltiming, coordinated signal systems, and removing unnecessary traffic signals.Improve driver information through the use of standard signs and lettering, retroreflective signs, and a replacement program for worn,damaged or missing signs.
