MoiniSummary:Grain oriented silicon steel sheets are widely used in transformers and generators cores.At present, these sheets are imported from foreign companies and it is anticipated thatthe industrial needs for these sheets will rise in future. Production process of thesesheets consist of various stages such as steel making, casting, controlled hot rolling,cold rolling, decarburizing, coating and final annealing.In this research project, various stages of manufacturing process were optimized andproduction know-hows prepared for a main group of these steel sheets. In order tooptimize the various stages of production, over 150 ingot with predeterminedcomposition and structure were cast and then the parameters of various stages wereoptimized by performing various tests and evaluation of micro( and macro)structure,texture, electrical and magnetic properties of produced sheets.At present using the prepared Know-how, it is possible to produce silicon steel sheetswith suitable properties and it is anticipated that the obtained results are used in massproduction of these sheets.113
