Rezaiee.Summary:Development of Composite Insulators used in the country and variety of manufacturingmethods, materials and manufacturers have necessitated the analysis of the performanceof these insulators more than ever before.Due to the long time required for examiningthe operation of composite insulators and probable damages resulted from malfunctionof some of them, it seemed necessary to have an equipment to estimate the long-termoperation of these.The definition of this project is the result of the preceding necessity. In addition the testequipment of Salt-Fog laboratory has application, in optimizing the material,manufacturing and designing methods of composite insulators.In this project after examining the foreign resources, the specifications of the equipmentwere derived and with the supply of relevant domestic resources, the equipment werebuilt and will be utilized (IEC 61109).To perform the accelerated aging tests, the traking-wheel system complying withstandard specifications was built (LWIWG-01).In the laboratory equipped with the foregoing equipment, it is possible to perform theClean-Fog test (IEC 60507) whitch is used for determining the performanc of commonString insulator will also be considered.This Laboratory has been built and used and right now ready for various insulator agingtests in accordance to the mentioned standards.In order to analaize the tests process a leakage current monitoring system has beeninstalled so that tests results could be assessed.46
