EtemadiSummary:Anaerobic Digestion Pilot plant for methane and energy generation from putresciblesolid wastes, was installed and started up in Karaj City composting plant. This projectwas conducted by Renewable Energy Department and “Karaj Recovery & CompostingOrganization” contributed to it by donation of land and initial facilities. This plant has a17m3 digester and has been equiped with shredder unit, heating unit, temporary sludgestorage tank, leachate recirculation system, gas measuring instrument, gas storage tank,sludge drying bed and control system. Biogas production is continuous in this plant andit will be heated by biogas. Digested materials can be used as compost after drying andretention in open air.65
