Since wetlands havehigher rate of biological activity than most ecosystems, they can transform many of thecommon pollutants in conventional wastewaters into harmless byproducts.This research explains application of the above-mentioned system for power plants.Considering the regulations of the Environmental Protection Agency of IRAN regardingthe necessity of the wastewater treatment for industries, power plants should also takeprompt action for the removal of their pollutants. Previous studies indicate thatwastewaters of existing power plants are beyond the Iranian Standards, which will causeterrible problems in short term and long term.61
