Allocations of places will be made inaccordance with the criteria adopted by the academy/foundation trust. If your application fora place at an academy/foundation trust <strong>school</strong> is unsuccessful you have the right of appealunder the terms of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998. Information on the appealprocedure can be obtained from individual academies/foundation trust <strong>school</strong>s.Applications <strong>to</strong> an academy/foundation trust<strong>school</strong> in <strong>South</strong> Gloucestershire from <strong>South</strong>Gloucestershire residents should be made <strong>to</strong><strong>South</strong> Gloucestershire Council either by on-lineapplication form or the application form includedin this <strong>booklet</strong>. Applicants resident in the areaof another local authority requesting a place inan academy/foundation trust <strong>school</strong> in <strong>South</strong>Gloucestershire must complete and return anapplication form available from their own ‘home’local authority. An academy’s/foundation trust<strong>school</strong>’s admission criteria are listed overleaf inalphabetical order. Academies/foundation trust<strong>school</strong>s may require applicants <strong>to</strong> complete asupplementary information form in connectionwith their admission criteria. Applicants shouldcheck with the academy/foundation trust <strong>school</strong>concerned.In <strong>South</strong> Gloucestershire, we have threeacademies providing for both primary and<strong>secondary</strong> <strong>school</strong> age pupils.The Ridings’ Yate International Academy is anall-through academy providing for the 3-19 agerange. The academy operates the primary phaseat Sundridge Park (previously, Woodlands PrimarySchool premises).As from September 20<strong>15</strong>, Bradley S<strong>to</strong>keCommunity School will be an all-throughacademy providing for the 4-19 age range andproviding 30 reception class places.As from September 20<strong>15</strong>, King’s Oak Academywill be an all-through academy providing for the4-19 age range and providing 60 reception classplaces.The Bris<strong>to</strong>l Technology and EngineeringAcademy, University Technical College (UTC)opened in September 2013. It specialises inengineering and environmental technology for the14-19 age range and first admission <strong>to</strong> this UTCis in Year 10. The curriculum is highly academicwith students also benefiting from specialistand work-based skills. Details of the admissionarrangements are provided in this section.New 14-19 provision in other localauthority areasNew provision for the 14-19 age range with a<strong>15</strong> mile radius catchment area includes BathStudio School and North Somerset Engineering& Technology College. All applications fromparents/carers of students wishing <strong>to</strong> applyshould be made direct <strong>to</strong> the individual localauthority and will be dealt with under the coordinatedadmission scheme.Bath Studio SchoolPlanned <strong>to</strong> open in September <strong>2014</strong> for Year 10and Year 12. Applications for Bath Studio Schoolshould be made <strong>to</strong> Bath & North East SomersetCouncil and will form part of the co-ordinatedadmission scheme.North Somerset Engineering &Technology CollegeA new free <strong>school</strong> opening for Year 10 studentsin September 20<strong>15</strong>.
