Arrangements for admitting pupilsto other year groups, including toreplace any pupils who have leftthe BTE AcademyWith regards to the admission arrangementsrelating to applications submitted for years otherthan the normal year of entry, the academy willconsider all such applications and if the yeargroup applied for has a place available, admit thechild. If more applications are received than thereare places available, the over-subscription criteriashall apply. Parents/carers whose application isturned down are entitled to appeal.Waiting listSubject to any provisions regarding waiting listsin South Gloucestershire Council’s co-ordinatedadmission scheme, the academy will operate awaiting list. Where in any year the BTE Academyreceives more applications for places than thereare places available, a waiting list will operate untilthe end of the Autumn term/Term 2.This will be maintained by the BTE Academyand it will be open to any parent/carer to askfor his or her child’s name to be placed on thewaiting list, following an unsuccessful application.Children’s position on the waiting list will bedetermined solely in accordance with the oversubscriptioncriteria set out above.
