<strong>Admission</strong> <strong>to</strong> Patchway Community College – Fusion Schools Trust❚ Each student will be subject <strong>to</strong> a period ofsupport and induction, personal <strong>to</strong> their ownneeds. During this time some commontasks will take place which assist with theunderstanding of the college charter and ethos,the assigning of appropriate groups and otheridentified needs being met.❚ This initial meeting may lead <strong>to</strong> a furthermeeting at a later date. The purpose of the firstmeeting is <strong>to</strong> investigate the student’s needsas a learner, e.g. the initial admissions meetingmay highlight the need for a native languagespeaker <strong>to</strong> be present <strong>to</strong> translate.<strong>Admission</strong>s <strong>to</strong> the post 16 studentcentre❚ PCC is part of the Concorde Partnership andreference should be made <strong>to</strong> its prospectus foradditional information.❚ Applications will be considered for admissionat the age of 16+.❚ Applications should be made direct <strong>to</strong> thecollege.❚ Where the number of applications exceeds thenumber of post 16 places available, and afterthe admission of any students with a Statemen<strong>to</strong>f Special Educational Needs naming thecollege, or an Education, Health and Care Plan,priority will be given in accordance with theover-subscription criteria which apply <strong>to</strong> Year 7admissions.❚ The specific minimum academic achievementrequirements will apply <strong>to</strong> all applicants, bothinternal and external. These are:❚ In the case of applicants who are, or havebeen, in public care, the applicant must meetany set academic criteria.❚ It is normal for all applicants who meet theacademic criteria <strong>to</strong> be admitted.❚ Under the School <strong>Admission</strong>s AppealCode there will be a right of appeal <strong>to</strong> anindependent appeal panel for unsuccessfulapplicants, both internal and external.- for level 3 courses 5 A*-C grades at GCSEor equivalent and the additional entryrequirements for each of the subjects <strong>to</strong> bestudied;- for level 2 courses students will need <strong>to</strong>discuss the suitability of courses <strong>to</strong> be studiedwith a member of the Post 16 Team.82Apply on-line at: www.southglos.gov.uk/admissions
