Provide metal cover plates (item 2, Figure 62).The outer plate MUST provide a stop to preventthe vent elbow from being pushed inward. (SeeNOTICE at right.) Hole diameters in the metalplates must be 3 5 ⁄8” for PVC pipe. For AL29-4C vent pipe and coupling (or elbow) — sizehole large enough to clear vent pipe, but smallenough to prevent the coupling (or elbow) frombeing pushed through.The <strong>Weil</strong>-<strong>McLain</strong> sidewall termination kitsupplied with each boiler includes metalplates with two openings. These plates canbe trimmed and used for direct exhaustvent termination cover plates when thevent diameter used matches the hole sizein the plates provided with the boiler.c. Insert the galvanized metal thimble (by installer)in the vent pipe hole as shown in Figure 62.2. Follow all local codes for isolation of vent pipe whenpassing through floors or walls.Termination and fittings1. If using a coupling or elbow for the termination,prepare the vent termination fitting (Figure62, page 52) by inserting a bird screen. Birdscreens are not supplied with the GV90+ boiler.Purchase separately from <strong>Weil</strong>-<strong>McLain</strong>.2. You can install the vent termination using eitherof the configurations shown in Figure 61, page 51.3. Maintain the required dimensions of the finishedtermination piping as shown in Figure 61, page 51.4. Do not extend exposed vent pipe outside of thebuilding more than shown in this document.
