GV90+ gas-fired water boiler — Boiler ManualStart-up (continued)Final checklistUse the checklist following to ensure boiler isoperating correctly.Have the following been completed?❏❏Is proper orifice plate installed? Refer to page 8 to check size andfuel type.Proper orifice plate must be used. Failure to do so willcause severe personal injury, death or substantial propertydamage.❏❏Thermostat heat anticipator (if available) set properly? Refer toField wiring, page 56.❏❏Read and followed all procedures and checks specified in the Startupsection, beginning with page 59?Perform the following❏❏Inspect vent system for leaks. Verify vent (and air) piping arefunctional and unobstructed.❏❏Measure natural gas input:a. Operate boiler 10 minutes.b. Turn off other appliances.c. At natural gas meter, measure time (in seconds) required touse one cubic foot of gas.d. Calculate gas input:3600 x 1000number of seconds from step c= Btuhe. Btuh calculated should approximate input rating on boilerrating label.❏❏Test limit control — While burner is operating, move indicatoron limit control below actual boiler water temperature. Blowerand burner should go off while circulator continues to operate.Raise setting on limit control above boiler water temperature andburner should reignite.❏❏Test additional field-installed controls — If boiler has alow water cutoff, additional high limit or other controls,test for operation as outlined by manufacturer. Burnershould be operating and should go off when controlsare tested. When controls are restored, boiler shouldrestart.❏❏Test ignition system (integrated boiler control):f. Connect voltmeter to gas valve terminals.g. Turn off manual gas valve.h. Set thermostat to call for heat.i. IBC will begin purge cycle, then activate igniter.Igniter will glow for approximately 20 seconds.Near end of 20 seconds, 24 VDC will show at gasvalve for approximately 6 seconds and then returnto 0 VDC. Control will attempt ignition two moretimes, increasing igniter time to 30 seconds for theseattempts. The control will then lockout, flashing thePOWER and FLAME lights.j. To restart system, follow Operating instructions onboiler (also Figure 76, page 66). (Control will resetafter power has been off for at least 45 seconds.)❏❏Set limit control(s) to system temperature requirements.Adjust balancing valves and controls to provide designtemperature to system.❏❏For multiple zones, adjust flow so it is about the samein each zone or as required.❏❏Cycle boiler with thermostat — Raise to highest settingand verify boiler goes through normal start-up cycle.Lower to lowest setting and verify boiler goes off.❏❏Observe several operating cycles for proper operation.❏❏Set room thermostat to desired room temperature.❏❏Fill in Installation and service certificate (see back coverof manual).❏ ❏ Review all instructions shipped with this boiler withowner or maintenance person.
